When I was young I always remember seeing a book with a title that said something like, “It’s Not A Religion, It’s a Relationship”.

I never read the book, but the title stuck with me, because that’s really what believing in Christ as the Messiah is. As you make your way walking with Him, eventually you will come to the understanding that what He did on the cross and 3 days later was all done to have a relationship, which is a phenomenal concept really.

And, not just any old acquaintance type of relationship, but a real, vibrant love relationship that is all-consuming. It’s not about us performing in order to be justified before Him like a religion dictates. It’s about His actions on our behalf that make it possible for us to walk into His throne room, sit down and either talk or just be with Him, which looks a lot like being in a relationship with someone who we think is super cool and we want to spend a lot of time with.

It’s only when people really realize what God has done, and what He has done it for, a relationship born from an amazing, intense, mind-boggling love, that people’s lives will be truly changed.

“He has told you men what is good and what it is the LORD requires of you: Only to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.”

Micah 6:8
